Protect your family from a fire— Installing a monitored smoke detector as part of your Professional Security System is one of the best ways to protect your family and property from the destruction of fire. A common misconception about battery-operated detectors is that if you have one, it will work, and you and your family will make it out safely and in time. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), 30% of home fires where there were smoke alarms, the devices did not work. Whether the batteries were dead or missing, these units create a tragic false sense of security for these victims.
A working battery-operated smoke detector may not offer adequate protection. According to the NFPA, the majority of fatal house fires occur when people are less likely to be alert, such as during the sleeping hours. Since the toxic gas created from the fire can put you into a much deeper sleep, you need a system that can wake you. So what's the solution? What will protect you and your family during the night and while you are away?

Given the choice, most seniors and persons with medical conditions or physical challenges would prefer to live in their own homes and be as independent as they can. That's not always possible, but for many, this dream can become a reality with the addition of one easy-to-use communications device.
The PERS-2400A ( Personal Emergency Reporting System) connects to your home telephone line, and will place a call automatically when you need it, day or night. Family, neighbors and medical personnel whom you pre-designate are immediately notified, so they can respond.
The PERS has been proven very dependable, enough to meet some very tough standards. It's listed by Underwriters Laboratories as a home healthcare signaling device and a smoke alarm accessory.
Operation of the PERS-2400A couldn't be simpler. If you can operate a garage door opener, you can operate this device. You keep a wireless transmitter with you at all times. In the event of an at-home emergency, you press the alarm button, which functions like a TV remote control, to signal the console to automatically call the Emergency Monitoring Center.
24/7 Emergency Assistance.
The Monitoring Center is staffed 24/7 by trained professionals. When one of these operators receives your call, they notify the key people whom you pre-selected to respond in specific situations: family members, neighbors, friends, or appropriate rescue personnel.
The heart of this system is the console itself, which is designed for tabletop use and is ideal for bedside/end table placement. It features a central Emergency button for manual activation in the same manner as the personal transmitters. A Clear button cancels alarms or resets the system after an alarm, and a Home button resets or turns off the activity reporting timer. During an alarm, the console sounds a distinct tone to identify the type of alarm. During a power outage, continuous protection is ensured by a long-life back-up battery.
